That’s exactly what I needed. I had been trying to go on a trip since 2019, but it just never lined up for me to go. Being selected to go on a trip lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders. I knew that there was something that was messing with me, but I didn’t know how to address it, let alone figure out what it was. I knew going in that Wilderness Therapy works, I just never had an opportunity to participate in a structured trip. The HFV staff were amazing. They understood the concerns of everyone in my group. Even though we had some major hic ups, they figured it out and ensured we had the Wilderness Therapy we signed up for.

While there, I was able to find the problem plaguing me all these years. The program gave me the tools to address it and not just go home and let everything come back. The time in the wilderness, the guided discussions, the comradery, even the yoga all played an intracule role in giving me the tools to get better.

I will be forever grateful to the HFV organization and the staff. I hope to go on another trip, but as a “guide” to the new participants, so that I can help other veterans like me.
