This was an experience I didn’t even realize I needed. I had been averse to veteran group events since I left the Army in 2019 because I felt like I didn’t really belong anywhere. The way HFV structured the trip and thoughtfully placed the readings, I felt surrounded by people I could relate to and could share some common feelings with. It reminded me that I do belong somewhere and created another shared experience that I will cherish for a long time.
