We believe that nature and camaraderie can transform veterans’ mental, physical, and emotional health. Our 5-day program, set in the Hunter-Frying Pan Wilderness near Aspen, includes:

By the end of the program, veterans emerge with a stronger sense of teamwork, deepened bonds with fellow participants, and a renewed outlook on life. Huts for Vets is committed to helping our nation’s heroes experience the profound benefits of nature, camaraderie, and positive health outcomes as they transition to civilian life.
Our Vision

At Huts for Vets, we offer no-cost wilderness therapy retreats to U.S. veterans and active duty service members. Our nature-based approach provides unconventional psychological healing, moving beyond traditional therapies to address veterans’ unique needs.

Our MISSION

Our mission is to help veterans adjust to and enjoy civilian life by offering the tools necessary to enhance their mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health.

Our immersive wilderness program focuses on the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—empowering veterans to cope with trauma and depression. Our programs feature guided hikes, group discussions, and community-building activities to promote healing and connection.

Huts for Vets was founded in Aspen, Colorado in January 2013 to provide, at no cost to participants, wilderness and communal experiences as therapeutic healing for U.S. veterans and active-duty service members.
